You know it's not easy being a knick fan. We used to be strong and fruitful back in the 90's. We all felt we were right on the court because we had teams that over achieved and brought the pain every night. At the end of the year, even after the Starks nightmare game, Charles Smith botch layup attempts, PJ Brown flipping Ward, Ewings finger roll, and all the lost wars against Chicago...(take a breath)...we always felt excited and ready to go to war again because next year was going to be better. We've been through Alot since those days. The Scott Layden and Isiah Thomas years corrupted the whole city of New York. We used to be a strong basketball town, Gangsta actually. Now we come across as forgotten vets from a history long forgotten. In it's wake the city is filled with Alot of corny bandwagon fans that live to suck the life out of the remaining knick fans out there. Since when are there so many fans of our historic rivals? Indiana, Miami and Boston of all teams? It makes you a ashamed to be a new yorker let alone a knick fan. It's so corny how bad it's gotten. Not for nothing the knicks have to take the Blame for this as an organization. Even with the Nets moving to Brooklyn, Alot of fans are repping Brooklyn just to spite the knicks. It's not easy being orange and blue.
What's also not easy is sitting through this Indiana series wondering what the hell was going on.
The team came off a superb season finishing 2nd in the conference. They had a series of ups and downs with injuries and slumps. Those slumps had to do with injuries and had nothing to do with effort. These knicks lost before their time due to lack of effort. That's something that stings more than anything I've seen in the 30 years since I have been following. That's 30 years of memory. There was 10 years that we sucked, but we legitimately were so bad that no amount of effort would have made a difference. This team simply buckled and had no answer for a team with inferior talent. Effort? We talking about EFFORT in my best Ray Lewis voice. That just doesn't sit well with me. I'm a knick blogger....I'll admit it I'm a lazy ass knick blogger, but whatever post i put on here it's me putting forth the time and effort to speak on a subject that doesn't have any benefit to my everyday life. In fact it's detrimental because I could be doing something else constructive with my time. I actually gave up blogging this season out of sheer superstition. I truly believed that my thoughts and words effected the outcome whether it be on the court or injury. That is very psychotic. At the same time guys like Starks, Oakley, Ewing...even Greg Anthony were border line psychotic when they played for us. I don't feel that our current mix of guys are on that same level. Maybe Shump, KMart and Maybe Carmelo....but what about the other guys? We've seen it in spurts from A'mare, Felton, Smith but we need it every night. Even the coach doesn't seemed as locked in as he should. He was thoroughly out coached against a young guy with not even a fraction of the experience that he has. Its just shameful.
Diehard Knick fans from my observation are in a state of shock. We're all demanding that we get rid of everyone that let us down, and bring in guys here that want to walk the line of a psychopath like the rest of us. I have some ideas....I'm back bitches. Read on like the preacher says....
First dude that should go is Wooden Woodson.
ReplyDeletetyson chandler sucks. someone who cant even convert alley oops calls out the teams offense (which admittedly sucked, but he didnt help any). and then after we get bounced he deflects blame like neo from the matrix. f'n waste of cap space that coulda been used on cp3
